New Year, New Me

Happy New Year, it’s that time of year again but this year we are also going into a new decade, it’s great to reflect and look back at your achievements and areas you want to improve setting new resolutions and goals you want to reach moving forward. It’s also a great time to re-vamp your wardrobe, de-clutter and invest in some new key pieces to mix it up again and fall in love with your style. For this blog post I have collaborated with Femme Luxe Finery and have selected some pieces and created some looks that push my style boundaries, whilst sharing some of my ambitions for the new year.

I usually play it safe with a black dress, which is why I chose this white polka dot dress with the ruffle detail, you will definitely need nude underwear with this one though. I have dressed it with my Abbot Lyon personalised handbag and trusty over the knee high boots.

This is the – White Polka Dot Ruffle One Shoulder Mini Dress – Alea and is currently £16.99, shop directly here This style of dress is really flattering for any body shape too, with the added belt detail to clinch in the waist, so if like me one of the things you want to work on this year is your confidence this outfit will help you feel good, because you know you look good on the outside.

Secondly I have picked this military style jacket with added pockets and a belt in the stone shade as well as these high waisted ribbed jeans. This outfit gives me badass vibes and this style of jacket isn’t normally what I would go for, I have also styled it with a mini cross the body bag and chunky ankle boots.

The Jacket is the – Stone Long Sleeve Belted Utility Cargo Jacket – Abril and is £14.99 also available in four different shades – and the jeans are – Mid Wash Distressed Ripped Mom Jeans – Cora, online at £12.99, shop directly here – this style is really versatile too, as you can dress them down with trainers or boots and wear during the day or with heels and a cute top for an evening outfit. I am trying to be more selective with things I buy to cut back on the throw away fashion affect, so picking pieces that can be worn for lots of different occasions and create many looks is key to playing your part in helping the environment.

And lastly I chose this black crop top with the zip detail, again this is a very bold chose for me as its something I would have seen before and liked but thought that it wouldn’t suit me, so this time I went for it and actually I really like it, it defiantly makes me feel sassy wearing it.

This crop top is the – Black Puff Sleeve Zip Up Crop Top – Elodie, which is £12.99 I have styled this crop top with the jeans in the previous look, see what I mean about them being versatile.

Another area in my life I want to work on is being content and happy within myself, only you can achieve these things for yourself and bring situations that create and encourage these feelings and to also continue to grow as a person, to always be open to trying new things but also knowing when to say no. This is a decade where many big things can happen in my life for me, settling down and creating a family of my own so I am going into 2020 optimistic and excited for what’s ahead.

Thanks for continuing to support me and my blog.
