Me and my boyfriend were looking for a last minute holiday to get away from the disaster that we call the British summer for some real sunshine. After spending a whole evening searching for somewhere that would be hot, had a beach and a pool and some atmosphere, as last year we went to Cape Verde which was beautiful but very quiet, we settled on Majorca. Thanks to Jess’s post and photos we decided to brave Magaluf and stay in the SolWave House, you can see her post here – Jessica Michelle we got it at such a good price through Thomson flying from Doncaster’s Robin Hood Airport we just thought ‘what have we got to lose’.
Thankfully it didn’t live up to its reputation or at least you could avoid these parts, our hotel was right on the beach with a pool overlooking, in the middle of lots of really great bars and restaurants to eat in at night. We also hired a car on one of the days to see some real sights of Majorca – first stop Palma, and then we drove down the coast in the opposite direction stopping for lunch in one of the most scenic restaurants I have ever been to.
Where to stay –
We stayed at the Sol Wave House, which was really modern with big rooms, very ‘Instagrammable’ – SolWaveHouse I would recommend requesting a beach front room though to try and avoid the 5 o’clock wake up. We also went to the hotel across the road most days as they had a pool party on from 1pm everyday with a DJ and inflatables, that hotel was really nice too – SolHouseTrinidad.
Where to eat –
If you get chance I would definitely give these a try –
- Pirates Beach Bar & Grill
- Tom Browns
- Bondi Beach Bar
- Kalima Beach
There was plenty of atmosphere, with busy bars and restaurants a long the beach at night, pool parties in the day and water sports available along the beach, and its so easy and reasonable to hire a car if you do want a break from it all for the day and see more of Majorca. I would recommend it to anyone whether you like to party or not, its defiantly somewhere I would consider going back to.
Where’s your next vacation?
