A few weeks ago I attended the East Mids Meet up in Leicester at the Manhattan 34 Bar, which was such a nice venue and the cocktails were delicious if you are ever in the area I would definitely check it out! The event was also a great way for the organises to raise a bit of money for a few charities close to them which I think was really nice, by setting up a raffle which also added a fun element to the day with some really great prizes.
The afternoon started with an ‘ice breaker’ where you were given a fact and you had to find the blogger it belonged to. Luckily I met a friend who is also a blogger over at laurasnow.co.uk before the event so we could go together as we both decided it was a bit daunting to go solo, but for people who did this was a great way to get chatting to others!
There were a lot more bloggers attending than I thought there would be but it was nice to finally meet some other local bloggers, I was starting to wonder if there were many from the Midlands. There were also a couple of talks by the blogosphere magazine and a local PR company, which gave you a great insight into the blogger industry and lots of helpful tips to come away with.
Local brands showcased at the event, I got my hair curled by the lovely ladies at Danique Hairdressing who offer a range of different services, you can find them here – Danique Hairdressing Angel Eyes were also there who specialise in lash extensions. We were lucky enough to get a voucher to use so I am really excited about getting mine done after seeing a few of the girls lashes at the event. They have a really strong emphasise on training all their girls one to one so you know its safe and you’ll always get an amazing set where ever you go, find them here – Angel Eyes UK. Leicester’s very own Bru were there too, with a range of different cakes to sample which all looked incredible, to find out more and see where there coffee shop is check out – Bru Coffee.
We also came home with these amazing goodie bags with lots of new products to try, thanks to Matalan for their contribution so many cute homeware pieces were in it from them, you can view their website here Matalan . Thanks again to all the bloggers who organised it, I can’t wait for the next one. If you want to find out more and keep in the loop for the next event follow the group on Twitter at – EastMidBloggers.
