Dining out with Bistrot Pierre

A few weeks ago myself and my friend and fellow blogger Laura over at laurasnow.co.uk were invited to check out Bistrot Pierre’s revamp at the Leicester restaurant were we got to enjoy a three course meal off the new Autumn/Winter menu.

The restaurant has recently been refurbished to meet the brands new colour scheme and style from new lighting, to the colour used throughout and the decorative wall fittings and art work chosen. All the changes have helped create a relaxing yet inviting atmosphere, with plenty of different features to look at.

For those of you who have yet to dine here the menu offers a range of traditional and modern takes on authentic French cooking, all the dishes we tried had loads of flavour and there was something for everyone from pan fried chicken to boeuf bourguignon and lots of fish dishes to choose from.

What we ate –


Mini chorizos au miel

(Mini chorizos roasted in honey)

Moules marinières

(mussels steamed with shallots, thyme, white wine and a splash of cream)


Poulet chasseur

(Pan-fried chicken breast in a classic chasseur sauce of red wine, mushroom and concassé tomato)

Navarin d’agneau

(Navarin of lamb with leeks, roasted root vegetables, onions and rosemary in a red wine jus)


Crème brûlée

Tarte au citron

(Caramelised lemon tart with raspberry sorbet)

We both had such a lovely meal and couldn’t fault the service, all the waiters and waitresses couldn’t do enough for us and were on hand to give advice when it came to deciding what food we wanted to order. There was plenty of gluten free options which were clearly noted on the main menu, which I was really pleased about, I have recommended this restaurant to many people already since our trip. If you are looking for somewhere to eat for a special occasion that offers something a bit different this should be top of your list, we were already planning out next trip before we had even left.
