Alberta & British Columbia, Canada 2018
My first trip of 2018, what can I say I couldn’t have asked for a better one to start the year with. It was the end of November last year and I text my best friend out of the blue to see if she was free in March and wanted a visitor, my flights were booked by the end of that week. We waved her off in May 2016 at Vegas Airport after our last trip together and she has been in Canada ever since, after seeing all her photos and hearing all her stories I couldn’t wait to see and experience it for myself.
The details; I went for 11-12 days, flying in to Calgary from Heathrow Airport in London with Air Canada, the flights were 8-9 hours.
Places we visited; Calgary, Jasper, Banff, Yoho, Kelowna, Sicamous, Big White and Fairmont.
So I thought I would share more of a photo diary than a full blog post, we did a lot of driving, some walking and exploring. Lots of eating and spending time together making up for lost time, I also experienced my first hostel stay. We visited hot springs both manmade and natural and I even learnt how to ski. The weather was very mixed but it didn’t actually feel as cold as I thought it would this time of year.
It really is such a beautiful place the photos don’t do it justice, I have also edited and shared my first travel vlog on Youtube – watch it here.
Also a massive shout out to discounted sunglasses for my Oakley Ski Goggles they sent me for my trip, they definitely got a lot of attention on the slopes and were perfect when the sun came out, buy yours here.
I can’t wait to visit again and explore more of Canada, this time though I would really like to go in Summer to experience it in a different season, to be able to see all the lakes not frozen and go horse riding the mountains.
