A Monday Evening Feast
I started this week the right way enjoying burgers and milkshakes with friends thanks to Byron Burger and Intu Derby the perfect was to spend a Monday evening. When I was invited to help celebrate Byron Burgers 10th Birthday, yes thats right they have been going for 10 years now we were all a bit shocked to0, it’s scary how quickly time can go, I jumped at the chance after hearing great things about their burgers I couldn’t wait to try it for myself.
We had all been trying to arrange a catch up for a while now so this came at a perfect time not only did we spend the night chatting away but we left feeling very full and satisfied. I went with fellow bloggers Jess at – www.jesswho.co.uk, Mel at – JustMelKate and Laura who blogs over at – www.laurasnow.co.uk click on the links to see what they thought.
Not only are they celebrating their birthday but you can also try their limited edition burger ‘Gizzmo’ created in collaboration with famous Chef Gizzi Erskine which only makes an appearance on special occasions so don’t miss out.
Located in the food court on the second floor, West Mall, at the Intu Shopping Centre in Derby.
To start we shared their classic Nachos and Olives, which as you can see from the photos below it is a good sharing size with plenty of toppings. For my main I had the skinny version of the classic double cheese burger with bacon which came with salad as I had opted out of the bun and a side of fries. And of course I couldn’t miss out on the the Reese’s Pieces milkshake to end my meal, trust me when I say it was definitely worth the calories.
You have to order your burger and sides separately. I think this is sometimes better especially when their is a group of you and none of you can decide on just one so you can get a mixture and share, from sweet potato fries to coleslaw and courgette fries or the classics topped with cheese and bacon or add some greens with a side salad you aren’t short for choice. And finding room for desert is a must as their is plenty of sweet treats!
From a friendly reception as we arrived to efficient service through out, the staff really couldn’t do enough for us and nothing was too much of an issue or ask, add to that great hearty food we left in high spirits and I can’t rate it enough, we will definitely be planning our return visit soon, even if its only for the milkshakes. It didn’t disappoint and lived up to the great reviews I have previously heard, maybe next time though I won’t get so carried away and literally have to be carried to the car because I have eaten too much.
We were invited to receive a complimentary meal from Byron Burger but all opinions are my own.
